my school bag weighs thirty pounds

As I'm preparing for my World Lit. II exam tomorrow, it made me think of the books/plays I read in high school/college and whether or not I liked them. So I'll make a list. :D

Excuse my messy desk!

Books/plays I liked:
A Midsummer Night's Dream
Antigone
The Canterbury Tales
The Color of Water
The Crucible
Dante's Inferno
Death of a Salesman
Don Quixote
Fahrenheit 451
Falling Leaves
Frankenstein
The Great Gatsby
Inherit the Wind
The Island of Dr. Moreau
Mrs. Dalloway
The Merchant of Venice
The Odyssey
Oedipus the King
Raisin in the Sun
Things Fall Apart
Trifles
The War of the Worlds
Wild Ginger

Books/plays I didn't enjoy:
A Streetcar Named Desire
The Awakening
Grapes of Wraith
The Illiad
Nickel and Dimed
Othello
The Prince
Romeo & Juliet
The Tempest
Their Eyes Are Watching God

    Books I didn't really read:
    A Time to Kill
    Angela's Ashes
    Black Like Me
    Middlesex
    Rich Dad Poor Dad

Books I wished they made us read:
      Catcher in the Rye
      How to Kill a Mockingbird
      The Kite Runner
      The Scarlett Letter

There's probably more.. I just can't remember it. As for the books under, "books I didn't really read," I was probably either lazy or couldn't get into it. Now it's time to get back to studying the works of  Cervantes, Erasmus, Montaigne, and Machiavelli. ):   Wish me luck!

Are there any books that you read in high school/college that you liked/disliked?  Tell me. (:

        1. Catcher in the Rye would've been a great read for school. It's sad they didn't have that. :(

Last semester for my English 1301 class we were assigned "Girl, Interrupted". It was great. Couldn't get my nose out of it for days.

        3. I'm so pathetic. In high school I was a bum and skimmed my way through books like 1984 & Lord of the Flies and just flat out skipped (sparknotes =/) To Kill a Mockingbird and lots of others.

Now i'm older and wished I hadn't been a lazy ass and just read the damn things!

I did lots of reading in college, but still behind on some of those classics.

        4. >Books I Liked
          >Dante's Inferno

Admittedly I have a certain fondness for the poem, but goddamn it's solid. I'd need a good year even to analyse the first circle.

        5. Definitely are some books to add onto the 'books to read' list.

          @MRanthrope: it's never too late (:

@Hipsterdise: No kidding. Luckily it was an assigned reading and the professor analyzed it for us. But to think this guy actually sat down, thought and came up with every punishment and canto.. Insaneeee. He was pretty harsh too. ):

        8. I agree, how to kill a mockingbird should be a must read for all students. I don't read much in the way of nonscientific literature, but, that book was fantastic and definately worthy of some of your free time. Check it out!

        10. These are all great books. The kind of books that you can talk about in high circles.
